- Three in the morning waking
These are not in your head, and they are not just your age.
Whether you were told everything looks fine or finally given a name for it, nobody has explained why your body is doing this or given you a plan for what to do about it.
Dr. Robin Schaefer, DC, LAc, helps women find the pattern underneath their symptoms, using functional medicine testing, Chinese medicine, gentle hands-on treatment, and lifestyle support to work with your whole system rather than one piece of you at a time.
Twenty minutes, by video or in person, no cost. Available to people located in Oregon.
You Have Probably Been Told This Already
Most women who find their way here have already been somewhere else.
Do you have symptoms across multiple systems, sometimes ones you don’t even call symptoms because you’re so used to living with them, digestion, sleep, hormones, skin, mood?
This means several body systems are under strain at once, and looking at any one of them alone will keep producing the temporary relief you have already had plenty of. What has been missing is not another treatment. It is someone who looks at the whole thing and tells you what to address first.
Four Systems That Have to Work Together
Everything in the body works as a team, which is why the system doing the complaining is often not the one causing the problem.
Your Nervous System
Sets whether your body is in a state where healing is even possible. When it has been running in overdrive for years, your sleep gets worse, your digestion gets wonky, pain lingers past the injury, and everything else on this list gets harder.
Your Gut
Determines if you absorb your food, and how much inflammation your body is carrying. It is a common and frequently missed source of skin problems, joint pain, food reactions, and fatigue that has nothing obvious to do with digestion.
Your Immune System
Is where a body under long strain tends to show it, through flares, reactivity to foods and scents, or catching everything that comes through the house.
Your Hormones
Respond to all of these things, trying to keep things in balance in a woman’s ever changing body and an ever changing world. When this system is stressed, cycles change, sleep breaks up in the early morning, temperature regulation gets unreliable, and the same amount of exercise stops producing the same result.

The Find Your Way Call is twenty minutes and free. We begin to look at which of these four is carrying the most load in you right now, and how I might be able to support you.
Book Your Find Your Way CallNobody Ever Gave Us an Owner’s Manual
You were handed a body and no instructions. Our medical system offers a series of specialists who each know one chapter.
What you can create here is the manual for your particular body. Not a protocol that everyone gets, and not a printout you will never read again, but an actual working understanding of what your symptoms are pointing at, which system to address first, what to expect as it settles, and what to do when life gets hard again. Patients leave knowing how to take care of themselves in a way that lasts longer than the appointment.
How This Works
The Find Your Way Call
Twenty minutes, free, by video or in person. You describe what has been happening and I tell you honestly how I would approach it. If it is not the right fit, I will say so; if you don’t feel it is the right fit right now, you can say so.
The New Patient Intake, in Two Visits
Tell Me About You Visit
Sixty minutes, in person or by video. We cover your full life history, what you have already tried, and the test results you have been carrying around in a folder. Lab testing may be recommended here when it will genuinely inform what your treatment is, and it is an additional cost.
Exam and Plan Visit
Sixty minutes, in person. A physical exam, and then a roadmap of what appears to be the underlying imbalances, and a plan for what to address in what order.
Care That Fits the Case
Depending on what we find, we’ll set up a plan that runs anywhere from about six weeks to six months and draws on whichever of the approaches fits, meaning hands-on work, acupuncture and herbs, nervous system work, testing, and lifestyle support.
The Find Your Way Call is free. The New Patient Intake, meaning both sixty minute visits together, is $229 beginning October 1. Lab testing, when recommended, is an additional cost and you will know the amount before anything is ordered.
What I Draw On
One plan, built from whichever of these fits your case.
Functional Testing
Gut function, hormones, nutritional deficiency, stress physiology, cycle tracking. Ordered when the answer will change what we do, not as a matter of routine.
Gentle Hands-On Care
Non-force chiropractic, craniosacral work, and Matrix Repatterning, matched to what your body can comfortably receive. There is no forceful twisting involved, and patients who have avoided chiropractic for years usually find this very different from what they were expecting.
Acupuncture, Acupressure and Chinese Herbal Medicine
This way of looking at the body often ties together symptoms that are scattered across the body with a logical approach to treatment.
Nervous System Work
For bodies that have been running on high alert or shut down for long enough that they have forgotten how to reset, whether that traces to a specific event or to years of sustained load.
Meet Dr. Robin
Most people with these symptoms end up seeing several practitioners. Dr. Robin’s training lets her bring hands-on work, acupuncture, and lab interpretation into the same visit and the same plan.
She came to this work through her own medical history, which began with a persistent infection at nineteen that conventional care resolved at considerable cost to the rest of her body.
She has been in practice since 1990, and is licensed in Oregon as both a chiropractic physician and an acupuncturist.
She is certified in functional medicine through the Kalish Institute and the Functional Medicine Academy.
Her postgraduate studies include courses on supporting patients with migraine, POTS, endometriosis, and skin conditions; hormonal and menstrual health; gut function; functional neurology rehabilitation; and professional training in the biology of trauma.
What People Are Saying
Practice members share their experience below, pulled directly from Google.
Is This a Fit for Me?
This tends to work well for women who
Are ready to take an active part in their own healing, who suspect their symptoms connect to each other and want to understand how, and who are willing to change some things about how they eat and sleep and move.
This is probably not the right fit if
You are looking for a single visit that resolves everything, or you would prefer to hand the problem over and receive a prescription without changing anything else, or you are located outside Oregon, since Dr. Robin’s licenses are Oregon licenses.
The Find Your Way Call exists so neither of us has to guess.
Frequently Asked Questions
Standard blood work panels are designed to detect disease and they do that well. They are not designed to show how well a system is functioning before it fails. Functional testing asks that second question.
The Find Your Way Call is free. The New Patient Intake, which is two sixty minute visits, is $229 as of October 1, 2026. Lab testing, when recommended, is an additional cost you will know in advance.
Dr. Robin is in network with the Veterans Administration through TriWest. She is not in network with any other health insurance plans. Some health insurance plans cover this kind of care through out-of-network benefits; after you schedule your Find Your Way Call our billers can check if yours does if you would like. The practice does not work with Medicaid, the Oregon Health Plan, Medicare, or Workers’ Compensation.
Lab testing, when recommended, is an additional cost and you will know the amount before anything is ordered. Lab testing fees are billed at wholesale cost plus 10% administrative fees.
